Fire crews have battled a “well-involved” two-storey house fire in Whanganui East.
Fire and Emergency NZ was alerted to the fire at 6.59am on Monday and responded with two Whanganui fire crews and one operational support team.
Fire and Emergency shift manager Shannon Lucas said one crew was still at the scene at 9.05am, as well as a specialist fire investigator.
Lucas said it was a “pretty straightforward residential structure fire at this stage”.
