Oversized Irish curtain and undersized window creates laughs for millions in viral video

A video showing a TikTok user opening a grand curtain to a lacklustre window has amassed more than 35 million likes on the platform.
The clip, posted by user Brad Ben, shows the holidaymaker striding across his hotel room in Galway, Ireland, before dramatically opening the floor length curtains.
Revealed was a small square window where you’d expect to see a grand sized one showing panoramic views.
The video was jokingly captioned “Appreciating those views”.

The audio attached to the video was the viral Jet2 ad sound, which features a brief audio clip of the the 2015 Jess Glynne song Hold My Hand followed by a declaration of the savings which can be made using the airline.
The “nothings beats a jet2 holiday” trend using the audio has been utilised to show people’s holiday fails, as they use the airline advertisement’s happy holiday feel for comedic effect.
One user said; “I hope you’re hungry for nothing ahh” in reference to another TikTok trend.
Many others made reference to the US television show The Office joke where character Michael Scott’s “plasma screen TV” is comically small.
In a follow-up video, posted in reply to a comment asking to see the view, Ben places his camera up to the glass to show the houses opposite his hotel.
The video got 2.7 million views with viewers eager to see what was on the other side of the minuscule window.
