Z petrol station in Christchurch: Officer points Taser at man before arrest

Passersby were stunned to see a police officer pointing a Taser at a man at a petrol station forecourt this morning.
Police said that, while conducting routine road safety work, they tried to stop a “heavy vehicle” on Marshlands Rd in Shirley just before 8.30am.
However, the driver continued to a Z petrol station on the corner of Marshlands Rd and Shirley Rd.
The man then got out of the vehicle and was arrested for not complying with police.
A photo supplied to the Herald of the incident appeared to show a police officer directing a Taser at a man moments before he was arrested.

A truck can also be seen parked on the forecourt.
Staff at the Z petrol station referred comments to police when contacted.
