Fire crews have battled a major house fire in Waikato this morning.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said it received multiple calls about a house on fire in a residential area of Te Kūiti at about 7.30am.
“On arrival, crews found a house well involved in fire.
“The fire was extinguished and crews were dampening down hotspots and ventilating the property.”
The spokesman said there was no mention of anyone in the house or of injuries.
A police spokesman said police were also called.
“I don’t have specifics on injuries; however, I can see ambulance were called also.”
A Hato Hone St John spokesman said ambulance staff checked one person “in a minor condition”.
In footage sent to the Waikato Herald, flames and smoke can be seen enveloping the house.
