Fire and Emergency New Zealand northern fire communications shift manager Garreth Lewis said crews were called to a report of a vehicle colliding with a Bethlehem house at 2.37pm.
One fire truck, a rescue tender and a support vehicle went to the scene.
Lewis said firefighters were assessing the structural integrity of the house.
Firefighters were working alongside police and ambulance staff.

Police said they were called to the crash on Pembroke Drive just after 2.30pm.
“There were no reports of any injuries inside the house; the driver of the vehicle sustained moderate injuries.”
Hato Hone St John said they responded to the crash with one ambulance crew.
“Our ambulance crew treated one patient in a moderate condition.”
