Woolworths customers across New Zealand are facing delays to online delivery and pick-up orders after a technical fault hit the supermarket’s systems.

A Woolworths spokesperson said the company was experiencing an issue with its online delivery system affecting customers with existing orders.

“Our team is working hard to get orders to customers as quickly as possible. Impacted customers will receive a text message or email about their order,” the spokesperson said.

“We’re sorry for the inconvenience to our customers and thank them for their understanding, and we ask our customers to be patient with our store teams.”

Woolworths has not said what caused the fault or when normal service is expected to resume.

The disruption comes after NZ Post experienced separate technical problems earlier on Saturday morning, affecting its website, parcel tracking, shipping label creation and postcode finder.

NZ Post said at the time its teams were investigating the disruption and working to restore access.

The affected services have since returned online.

NZ Post apologised for the disruption and said it understood the impact it could have on customers and businesses.
