Hamilton crash: 1 in serious condition after alleged dangerous driving, evading police

One person is in a serious condition after an alleged dangerous driver crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle in Hamilton this afternoon.
Police said they received several reports of traffic offending near Cambridge about 12.15pm.
Attempts to locate the vehicle were initially unsuccessful but further information led officers to Kahikatea Drive, where the driver was allegedly continuing to drive in an unsafe manner.
The vehicle then travelled through the Dinsdale roundabout on to Whatawhata Rd, where police allege it crossed into the opposite lane and hit another car.
A spokesperson for Hato Hone St John said the driver of the second vehicle was taken to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition.
The alleged offender was also treated at the scene and taken to hospital in a moderate condition.
Charges are yet to be laid, police said.
