Hawke’s Bay Netball is in its biggest week of the year with dozens of finals, including the Super Club finals at the Rodney Green Arenas in Taradale on Wednesday night.
They follow other club finals held outdoors on Saturday, and the Super Secondary finals at the arenas (the RGA) on Tuesday afternoon and evening, when the Central Hawke’s Bay Premier and Senior finals were being played in Waipukurau.
Other secondary school finals will be played on Saturday.
There’s more to come in spring, with Hawke’s Bay hosting the national open women’s championships on September 10-13 and the national mixed championships on October 21-25, also both at the Rodney Green Arenas.
Super 40s finals were played in three divisions last week.
Wednesday’s Super Club finals start at 6.30pm with All In Mavericks playing Outkasts Evlutn in the Division 2 decider, and All In Kings and Toki Tu Toa playing for the men’s title.
Near-perennial Division 1 finalists Ōtāne and All In Elusive once again play for the women’s title, starting at 8pm.
Each side had a loss in the championship round, with Ōtāne beaten by Hastings HSOG on July 22 but bouncing back to beat Elusive 50-44 a week later.
Ōtāne beat Elusive 50-48 in last year’s final, in the 2024 final HHSOG beat Napier Girls’ High School, in 2023 All In Elusive beat Ōtāne for a second title win in a row, and Ōtāne won in 2021.
