One person has been injured after an alleged stabbing on the main street of a Canterbury township.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Main St, in Fairlie, about 2.15am on Saturday.
Hato Hone St John responded with an ambulance and helicopter.
A person was taken by helicopter to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.
Police said inquiries were ongoing and asked any witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage of Main St to contact 105 and quote file 260912/6922.
