Nicki Minaj backs Donald Trump at Michigan rally as he comments on her appearance

Rapper Nicki Minaj has appeared at a Michigan campaign rally to support US President Donald Trump, but the event made headlines after Trump told supporters the rapper had a “beautiful a**”.
Speaking at the Republican rally in Port Huron on Sunday, Trump made the off-the-cuff remark about the musician’s appearance before returning to his campaign message.
“By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful a** before - Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss,” Trump said.
Minaj was there to support the Republican campaign ahead of the midterm elections.
“President Trump, it is an honour to stand with you every single time, and I will continue to support you forever and ever,” Minaj told the crowd.
“If you run again, I will support you again,” she added, appearing to refer to the possibility of another Trump candidacy, despite the US Constitution limiting presidents to two elected terms.

Before the event, Minaj told the Daily Mail she viewed the upcoming midterm elections as critically important and argued Republicans needed a supportive Congress to help advance the Administration’s agenda.
While travelling with Trump aboard the presidential plane, Air Force One, the rapper also appeared in White House social media posts praising Trump’s economic and foreign policy record.
In a video shared by White House communications director Steven Cheung, Minaj credited Trump’s business experience for his approach to governing and described him as a strong international negotiator.

The clip attracted further attention when Cheung suggested Minaj could become the next White House press secretary after Katie Zacharia left this month.
The idea was shared widely by Trump allies online, although there has been no indication the offer was serious.
Minaj responded to the speculation on social media with a pair of emojis, appearing to laugh off the suggestion.

The Michigan rally is part of Trump’s final campaign push before the midterm elections, with the president increasingly turning to celebrity supporters to energise Republican voters.
Recent campaign appearances have included sports and entertainment figures such as Mike Tyson, Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather.
Minaj has emerged as one of Trump’s most prominent celebrity supporters since publicly backing him in 2025.
